The World Photography Festival and Sony World Photography Awards in Cannes, France
iStockphoto is really excited to be partnered with The World Photography Festival and headlining the packed events programme. The week-long event, showcases the annual Sony World Photography Awards, which is one of the largest and prestigious photographic awards programmes in the world today. The Festival celebrates photography and the still image with a full slate of festival events, educational opportunities, and industry exhibitions - all throughout the glamorous and serene city of Cannes.
This year, iStock will be on hand to join the party. Our staff, plus a team of special iStock ambassadors, will lead four days worth of workshop discussions and hands-on shoots. We've also invited any iStock member who can get their hands on an SWPA pass to come join us. Talk about good times.
How it works
— The iStock lounge
Meet us at the iStockphoto lounge in the Palais as soon as you arrive on the grounds. You can't miss us. We'll be set up in our own lounge space throughout the event, and any iStock member is welcome to come by anytime and hang out. So once you're in Cannes and have finished registering for the SWPA, head straight for us. We'll take care of you from there.
— Morning Workshops
Each morning at 10:00 iStock hosts a different workshop, featuring a panel of key site members discussing different photography and stock topics. These workshops are open to all SWPA pass holders.
— Guerilla stations
The afternoons are for shooting. There will be three iStockalypse-style shooting stations set up each day. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, starting at 14:00, there will be three simultaneous shoots happening around the festival grounds and out in the city. Each of these stations will have a different concept, and a pair of iStock ambassadors will be on hand to help you create some images. We will have lights, models, wardrobe, props, and a concept: you get to try your hand turning all the elements into imagery of your own. The iStock Guerilla stations are open to all SWPA pass holders.
